Collingwood Standardbreds

Noah (Crack des Noyers) is a very classy 13yo French Trotter gelding, approx 15.2hh. He does not pace at all, so he offers the normal selection of gaits (walk, trot, canter, gallop) — but fast.

He retired sound and full of life after a fabulous racing career and is now ready for a new job. He recently spent a week being schooled by a talented young rider who got him cantering in the school and jumping small courses of jumps. With the right person he would progress very quickly, as he is naturally collected, fit, sound and very trainable.

He is a fun, forward-going and brave hack, and I’ve also been thoroughly enjoying driving him around the lanes. But he is not for the faint-hearted as he is seriously fast and while he has impeccable manners (nice mouth, no buck / rear / bolt), he can get a little hot or on his toes occasionally, and therefore requires a competent rider with light hands.

He would be a VERY good prospect for endurance as he was renowned for his stamina on the track and holds the British 2-mile trotting record. Noah loves to work and his enthusiasm is infectious.

And finally he is a dream to handle . Brilliant to shoe, wash, groom, load and travel (in all types of vehicles). Catching can take 5 minutes but usually less. He gets on well with mares and geldings. Fine in a stable but prefers to be out. Likes to have company and while he doesn’t do stupid things when he’s alone, he doesn’t relax much either so he must go to a home with company.

A very sweet and special horse who is an absolute pleasure to own.
