I supply off-the-track Standardbreds and French Trotters to the UK pleasure riding and driving market. My horses are carefully selected for their attributes or life experiences that make them particularly well suited to a second career after racing.
I have been training harness racehorses for twenty years, and have driven and ridden in more races than I can count. I have brilliant, trusted connections in the UK harness racing industry; I am also a STAGBI director and a member of the Wales and Border Counties Racing Association working committee. Unusually for someone so entrenched in racing, I also manage to find the time to explore other equestrian disciplines with my Standardbred racehorses, which gives me a good insight both into their lives and experiences as racehorses, and their potential off the track.

I can also source rescue or non-ridden Standardbreds on request, but my primary focus is on horses with obvious potential to be straightforward, enthusiastic and enjoyable participants in a new career. I am also very partial to a nice part-bred!

I am lucky enough to have access to brilliant hacking on and off road, and a range of horse-drawn vehicles and harnesses. There are several nearby arenas I can hire if needed, but most of the work I do with all my horses is on the road or open hill (where I can jump gorse bushes and do some simple schooling). As a result they are all happily hacking alone by the time they leave me because I can’t do much with them until they have mastered this basic skill!
