If you would like to be contacted if I come across a horse that could tick your boxes, for £20 you can put your name on the List. This means I will contact you if I hear of a promising-sounding trotter or pacer that may suit you.
Whether you are looking for a very specific age, height, gender or colour, or just putting out feelers, this is a good way to make sure you don’t miss out if the right animal comes along. It also means you can step away from Facebook safe in the knowledge that I will contact you if I find a horse who might suit you.

- What age, height, colour and gender are you looking for? Trotter or pacer?
- What do you intend to do with the horse, now and in the future?
- Please tell me a bit about yourself. Approximate height, weight and age is really helpful but also your location, level of experience and competence, what kinds of horses you feel comfortable with, and what behaviour you can and cannot deal with.
- What is your budget?
- Are you prepared to compromise on anything, especially if your budget is towards the lower end? For example, could you deal with any special needs or quirks relating to health, behaviour or day-to-day management?
- Anything you really do NOT want?
Please note that being on The List does not guarantee that I will find you your perfect horse (although I will not take your money if I think it is unlikely that I can help you). It does not give you more right to the horse than anybody else, and I will not cancel or postpone viewings from other buyers while I wait for you to become available. All it means is that I will contact you if I come across a horse that sounds as if it may tick your boxes. If this horse has not been assessed by me personally, this will be very clearly stated, and means you will need to do all checks and inspections yourself.
FAQs
Why are you doing The List? Why can’t you just contact people for free, since it’s only going to be a quick message? Great question. I used to do my best to get back to people who contacted me wanting a very specific height, age, colour or gender, and those who contacted me ‘putting out feelers’ who had not started looking yet but wanted to be notified in the spring / after payday / after their holiday. What happened was that the vast majority of them did not even reply, let alone come and view. So I gave up, but that’s not fair on the genuine buyers who really and truly do want me to find them a horse and be notified if a particular type comes along.
Why is it so expensive? Can’t I just watch your Facebook page and contact you if I see a horse you like? Yes, of course you can. This is for people who want me to contact them. I will not discriminate against buyers who decided not to go on the List. My aim, as ever, is to find the best match for the horse.
Why is it so cheap? Because I don’t plan to devote a huge amount of time to people on the list, until they come and view. However, if people on the List start taking up enormous amounts of my time or treating it like a bespoke counselling service, I might have to put up my prices.
Can I come and meet you and your current horses before deciding whether to put myself on the List? Yes, of course. I’m really happy to have visits from nice people who love trotters and pacers as much as I do, or want to learn about them. If I agree to a visit or invite you to come again, that’s because I genuinely mean it.
Can I have a refund if you don’t find a perfect horse for me? It is important to understand that being on the list does not guarantee that I will find you your perfect horse… If you’re turning into a nightmare I’ll probably just refund you to get rid of you, but I won’t be in a hurry to sell you a horse in the future, and I’ll put you on my Other List (the red flag list) instead…
