I don’t sell perfect horses, I make perfect matches. It is very important that my horses go to the right home, not the first home that comes along. I put a lot of time into the matchmaking process, starting with a conversation about what the buyer is looking for, their experience and their situation. If I don’t feel they are going to be a good match, I will not encourage a viewing.
I am not interested in selling unseen, LWVTB or payment plans.
I rarely agree to trials off site, because they are usually not in the horse’s best interests. I am, however, very happy to give you plenty of time at the viewing, and I welcome repeat viewings. I do not ask for a deposit or any kind of fee to view the horse, but if you would like me to take it off the market while you get organised, I will need a deposit.
A large proportion of the people who contact me asking for help finding a trotter or pacer disappear the moment I find one that ticks their boxes, so I have introduced a system called The List. If you are genuinely keen to find a trotter or pacer, fill in a short questionnaire, send me £20 and you can go on the List. I will get in touch if I come across a horse that ticks your boxes, before advertising elsewhere. Vettings: all my horses are open to vetting. I will disclose any health issues I am aware of, whether or not you choose to get the horse professionally vetted, and I will also make buyers aware if the horse has previously failed a vetting. Other professionals such as physios, farriers and trainers are welcome to inspect. I’m less enthusiastic about the horse being poked, prodded and picked apart by a non-professional.
